W Hotel Yas Island
While leading design at DWP Dubai, I oversaw the transformation of W Hotel Yas Island’s public spaces, infusing the property with bold narrative-driven concepts that redefined the guest experience through storytelling, contrast, and color. The lobby and Roastery bar welcome guests with a moody, sculptural energy that plays with shadow and form. Corridors and elevator lobbies set the tone for discovery, while the W Lounge evokes a surreal atmosphere inspired by the concept “What if the desert flooded?”—a blend bold contrasting florals and oversized accents. Outside, the Wet Deck is a vibrant celebration of movement and sound, with a DJ booth, pool, and bar designed around the prism of color found in oil on water—an ever-shifting, high-gloss playground. The hotel’s all-day dining venue was reimagined into Food Garage, a collection of six distinct dining experiences under one roof, each with its own storyline—from street food vibes to high-octane glam—crafted to surprise and delight at every turn. This redesign brought the bold, eclectic energy of W to life through immersive, layered environments that invite exploration and play.
