Elle Decor: How to Design for Comfort You Feel But Don’t See
Elle Decor turned to designers for the elements that make a room feel good without ever being seen: light, air, acoustics, and temperature. Elizabeth Valkovics of Batten Court Design was one of two designers featured, sharing how she builds comfort into a home’s systems from the very start of a project.
Valkovics looks beyond aesthetics to climate, air quality, ergonomics, water quality, and materials, working with the general contractor early so HVAC placement supports the architecture rather than competing with it. She favors frameless, singular linear grilles where the equipment has to show at all.
