Her own regret is wall-to-wall carpeting in the kids’ rooms. Looking back, she’d have put in wood flooring paired with rugs instead, since it’s far easier to clean and swap out a rug than an entire carpet. A close second: skimping on bedside tables early on, when buying well-made pieces from the start would have saved money in the long run.
