Elizabeth Valkovics of Batten Court Design recommends solid-wood cabinet doors in a style true to the home’s architecture — a mid-century bungalow calls for a flat-panel full-overlay door, while a classic Georgian home suits stained wood insets.
She does have one caveat: skip the stark all-white kitchen. “Don’t be afraid to go bold with color or saturation, like charcoal grey or a rich, heritage green,” Elizabeth says. “Just don’t do a stark all-white kitchen without soul and story.”
